IOSH Managing Safely in the Exhibition & Events Industry
Duration: 4 days

Accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH), the Managing Safely course is a well-recognised and respected programme of training.

The course is exhibition / event industry specific and therefore ideal for floor managers, duty managers, organisers and others with operational responsibility, or safety input for exhibitions / events, and it also serves as an ideal foundation course for those wishing to progress onto the NEBOSH General Certificate course. Part-time health and safety staff, safety representatives and graduates have also found it to be invaluable in providing essential skills for putting health and safety theory into practice.

The Managing Safely course comprises seven core modules, requiring a total direct input period of at least 24 hours, plus assessment time. The delivery can be spread over a convenient time span. One organisation-specific module may be added if required.

Course outline
Health & Safety Legislation
Crowd Dynamics
Safety Committees and Joint Consultation

On conclusion of the course delegates will have improved knowledge and understanding of health and safety management, and will be able to manage their organisational health and safety issues in a more proactive and practical way.

The programme includes overnight project work and concludes with a multi-choice examination. Delegates are required to complete a workplace-based project, which forms part of the overall assessment and must be returned to us within 14 days. A minimum pass rate of 70% is required for certification. An IOSH Managing Safely certificate is awarded to all those who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments.
